Guitar Making Courses with Pablo Requena

Pablo Requena’s Intensive Guitar Making Course is an opportunity for exploring first hand all the techniques involved in making a Classical or Flamenco guitar. The students will be selecting the timber, constructing the instruments and learning finishing techniques.

Through out the course there will be continual assessment and instruction to ensure first class results. This course is suitable for any one who wants to build a one off instrument or for those who are considering guitar making as a profession.

On January 15th 2007 Pablo will be starting the next intensive course which will run for 4 weeks. He will be taking only two students who will go through the process of building their own Spanish guitar with a simple French polish finish.

The students will need to have good woodworking skills to do this course.

The cost of the course will be £2000 excluding materials and accommodation. The cost of materials will be around £200 depending on your choices of wood and machine heads. To secure your place a deposit of £300 will be required which can be paid by debit card or a money transfer.

The course will be held in Pablo’s workshop in the beautiful historic town of Lewes - 15 minutes away from Brighton and 1 hour from London. It is fairly easy to find accommodation through the internet, but if you need any help please let us know and we may be able to help you find something in and around Lewes.
